Michigan football deals with being left out of playoff

Following the results from this weekend it wasn’t a big surprise that the Wolverines were left out of the College Football Playoff. A loss by Washington or Clemson could have opened the door but Michigan will settle for a date in the Orange Bowl against Florida State.

Detroit Free Press writer Shawn Windsor says that the Orange Bowl is a good consolation prize, but one that Michigan’s graduating seniors will lament. Junior standout linebacker/safety Jabrill Peppers refused to criticize the playoff committee according to Landof10.com.

And CBSSports.com’s Jon Solomon reasoned why both U-M and Penn State were left out of the playoff. ¬†Generally speaking, it was hard to get around the fact that Washington lost only one game and captured a conference title.
